This and That

So on my birthday I discovered someone had kicked the door of my car and dented it.  How do I know it was a foot you say?  Well, it has been raining ALL month (April showers BETTER bring May flowers), and the guy left a muddy foot print right on my baby's right back door.  I was so sad I wanted to cry!  Why would someone do this?  Why my car?  I felt like someone had injured my child.  Alas, there was nothing I could do.  It was probably some drunk person walking to or from the bars.  This is one part of college life I will not miss one bit.  Yesterday, I took it to the repairman and it is going to cost over $800 to get it fixed!!!  Thank God for insurance!

Who else is excited for the royal wedding on Friday???  TLC has been having shows all week long and it has been awesome.  I have decided though that William is way past his hotness prime and Harry has taken his spot.  I even watched the Lifetime movie about William and Kate. I can't wait to see her dress!!!

I have been trying to come up with a good gift for the BF.  Men are so much harder to buy for!  So unfair.

I am still as busy as ever applying for jobs.  If you have any leads let me know :)

I am also in the process of deciding between an iPad 2 or a new laptop.  So many decisions to be made!

Oh!  These are my new obsession!  I want them so bad!  Unfortunately, they are expensive.  perhaps I will go down the fishing aisle and find some pretty feathers to put in my hair instead?

What I Learned in my 21st year of life

Today is my last day of being a 21 year old.  I can't believe how fast this year has gone by and yet I feel about five years older.  So, today I decided to make a list of all the life lessons I have learned this past year.

1) If you walk into your apartment and it smells like gas, call the gas company.  They will probably make you sit outside your apartment in the dark waiting for the guy to come check it out, but it's worth it to know you aren't going to blow up.
2) The reason your apartment smells like gas is probably because your pilot light went out.  I thought a pilot light was in your car.  Or perhaps in an air plane.  I did not know that it was in my gas stove.
3) For the love of all that is holy, put on sun screen when laying out.  Even if it is chilly and you don't feel like you are getting any sun, YOU ARE.  And you will pay.  And you will hate yourself.  And you will scold yourself for the rest of your last spring break.
4) Just because a company has you interview with 4 people, doesn't mean they want to hire you.
5) College does not prepare you for the real world.
6) Never forget to defrost your chicken before cooking it.  It will be bad and you will have to throw your dinner away and eat chips instead.
7)  There is always room for ice cream.  Even in the dead of winter.
8) Snuggies are awesome. Especially when they have hoods.
9) Quitting your job takes a lot of guts.
10)Texas is HOT.  Like don't want to leave the house even if it's to go shopping hot.
11) The best way to kill time when the power goes out for absolutely no reason in the middle of summer is to go get ice cream.  And then go to Wal-Mart.
12) Sometimes your house will be the only one on the entire street to lose electricity and you will have to listen to your neighbors have a raging party.  Do not go attack them.  Calmly continue to read your book by flashlight.
13) When you are a bridesmaid it is best to bend your knees so you don't feel like you are going to faint.
14) You are never too old to love going to the zoo.
15) You are never too old to love going to COSI
16) I am really bad at pool, but it is still important to play anyway.
17) You can learn how to do anything using youtube.  I learned how to curl my hair with a straigthener watching this video.
18) Charlie Sheen is psycho.  (WINNING)
19) You can still be best friends with someone even if they happen to be living in South Korea.
20) Hot chocolate and cinnamon toast make everything better.
21) Easy mac will never be as good as regular mac and cheese.
22) I have always planned on my long term goals like settling down and having kids but I forgot to plan on what I am going to do after college.  Oops.
23) When your roommate puts a bunch of apple slices down the sink and it gets clogged, using the toilet plunger is a resource not to be overlooked.
24) When dealing with a washer and dryer that takes quarters, always make sure you have enough quarters to dry the clothes you just put in the washer.  Otherwise you will be scouring the apartment forever trying to find a quarter and cursing the machine for not taking two dimes and a nickel.
25) Coin operated washer and driers do not take Canadian money.
26) This too shall pass.
27) Writing out to do lists on post-it notes for everyday of the week and then ripping them off the wall is highly satisfying.
28) No matter how much I study accounting, it will never make sense.
29) Companies do not care if you have a college degree anymore, they care about how much experience you have.
30) I have learned that I still have a lot to learn about life.  How come when I was 16 I thought I knew everything, and now about 6 years later, I know nothing?

Random Rambling

Today I had a midterm in my communications class.  most of my professors have a rule that you have to have a seat between you and your neighbor so I looked around the room to find a seat with no one around.  This just so happened to be in the last row of the room.  Normally, I am not a back of the room kind of girl because 1) that's usually where the people who like to talk sit and I have a hard enough time paying attention without hearing about how wasted they got this weekend and 2) It's harder to see the board.  Anyways, today I made an exception since we had an exam.  So I sat myself down and waited for the test to begin.  Well, apparently the back row is also where all the smokers sit!  I was surrounded by people who reeked of cigarette smoke.  Gag me.  Who even smokes anymore?  Lame.

Did anyone watch the Masters??  I watched like the last hour of the entire tournament.  I couldn't help but notice how much WHITE the golfers were wearing.  Like white pants and a white top.  It was a bit hard to decipher who was the golfer and who was the caddy!  White is for sure an in color this season, but you don't need to over do it!

Went to IKEA last weekend!  I love that place!  If only I had my own house to decorate!

Yesterday I did p90x Plyometrics with the BF.  Oh my oh my I do not know how people keep up with it!  I was dying after the warm up!  I had to take more breaks then the people did and I cut out about 15 minutes but I still think that's pretty good considering I DO NOT workout. Ever.  I was so in shape in high school and it totally deteriorated in college.  But, with my trip to Hawaii in June to look forward to, I am trying to regain myself.  I don't really care about losing weight because I am already pretty tiny, but I just want more energy and to feel better about myself.  Today, I went to the gym and did the elliptical.  Tomorrow I really want to try the p90x ab ripper!  My legs need a break!  I can barely walk down the stairs, which is sad because my room is in the basement.

Oh!  Speaking of my room, I am getting a new shower put in!  I am excited!  Also, they put in a new mini window so that more light comes in!  Woot!

On Monday I went to the grocery store and bought Orange Pineapple Banana juice.  It is so delicious, I highly recommend it.

I was in the market for a new foundation and remembered that Covergirl came out with one so I decided to put it to the test!  It's always so risky to buy a new foundation especially drug store makeup where you can't really try it out, and although it's not as much as getting it from a department store, it's still pretty expensive!  Anyways, I got CoverGirl Natureluxe.  It has spf 10 in it, which is nice.  I am really happy with it!  It goes on really smooth and has good coverage, but it doesn't feel like you have makeup on!  Score!  Plus, I really like that it's in a squeezable tube because that way I can get all of the product out!

On Monday I wore my hair up in a pony tail with a bun and my BF said he likes when I wear my hair like that because I look like a Samurai.  Ten points to him for making me feel pretty when I hadn't showered all day.

The End.

MIA

Sorry I have been missing from the blog for a couple weeks!  Life has gotten in the way!  I had a career fair this past week and got three interviews out of it so I am keeping my fingers crossed!  They are not exactly my dream positions but I am learning that with this tough job market beggars can't be choosers and I am going to have to start at the bottom and work my way up!  I am excited for a new adventure!

Not much else to talk about at the moment, but I will be back with some more excitement soon!
