I apologize

I apologize for my absence but I recently picked up my new iPad and I am a bit smitten with it...ok totally obsessed with it.

Still looking for a job. So depressing. Sigh. Can i just craft and blog for a living please?

Locket Bracelet

A little while back my Grandma asked if I wanted this locket.  I am not sure what the story is behind it but I thought it was so pretty!  I finally got around to putting it on a bracelet this weekend!

I found the coolest bracelet at JoAnn!  The little gold nob screws off so you can put your beads on, then it is just a magnetic closure!  Just make sure your beads have a hole that is big enough to fit around the small screw bit!

Then I found these cute charms in the clearance section!   I think they would make cute earrings!!

Flower Power

And I am back with another craft!!  I did a little spring cleaning and found some fabric left over from other projects!

First I found some leftover fabric my Tinkerbell costume for Halloween!  Here is what I came up with...
The pearls are just some pearl beads from Jo Ann!

Decided to put it on a ribbon

The finished product!

I also made a flower from some fabric that I made pillows out of...
Added some sequins for some sparkle
I haven't decided if I want to put this on a clip or a ribbon yet!

I also found the fabric in the next 2 flowers in the fat quarter section of JoAnn...thought they were so cute for summer!

I have made adjustments of my own but that is the basics!  I usually don't use the big flower cut out because I think it is too much for my little head!

Fabric Flower Rings

I have just been in the mood to be creative lately!  I can't wait until I have room for a sewing machine!  Until then, my glue gun has become my new BFF.  One of my favorite sites to stalk is Craftgawker.  It is amazing!
I was looking on there today and found a link to flower fabric rings!  The original tutorial can be found here.

I made a few adjustment to the original tutorial.  Instead of using elastic from the store I just cut up one of my pony tail holders!  I have so many that I knew I could afford to lose one!  Plus, I ended up having enough to make 2 rings from one pony tail holder!

I am not one for measuring so I don't have exact measurements.  It all depends on how big you want your flower!  Here are some pictures from the process!

Regular hair band

Cut and measured to fit my finger.  Just hot glued the loose ends!

Random old fabric

Finished!

The red one I made next

Hope you enjoy!  I urge you to try this out with old fabric scraps!  This cost me nothing!

Crafting!!!

This past week I was inspired to do some crafting!!

First I made these cute little clips with flowers on them!  I just free handed everything and then hot glued them onto the clip!  I think they are cute for the spring and summer!  And super easy!

For my birthday, I requested a new pair of slippers.  I have had my old slippers since high school and they were looking a little, well, loved.  Like really loved.
Exhibit A
So my request was answered and I got these cuties for my 22nd.  Anyways, I was feeling bad about throwing these away so I was trying to think of how I could salvage them. It just so happened the dress I was wearing that matched the sparkles on those slippers so I decided to cut them up!

After cutting them I glued them onto some clips!  Easy as that!  I am such a sucker for sparkles and I thought this way i could feel a little better about tossing them out!

Don't you just LOVE the tacky wood walls in my bathroom?
Hope you enjoyed my crafting!

Has Spring Finally Sprung?

Hello everyone!

Just got done working out. I know.  I figure I should A) get in shape for the upcoming trip to Hawaii B) Use the facilities I have available to me since I am paying for them anyways C) take advantage of this feeling to go outside when it is so nice (even though I am working out inside) or D) All of the Above.
D.  Final Answer.

It is HOT here.  Like summer hot.  I was actually sweating before I even started my workout.  So attractive.

This weekend I am participating in Relay For Life!  I am super excited!  I am on the Public Relations committee so not only will I be participating in the relay I will also be helping with registration and games!  Fingers crossed that the weather cooperates and we don't get any rain.  i will be sleeping in a tent.  Yes, me, in a tent.  Sigh.  I will probably only be getting about 3 hours of sleep that night anyways though so it won't really matter where I am sleeping.

Whenever I work out I lose my appetite.  I feel like it should be the opposite.  i should be more hungry since I just burned calories, but food always sounds really bad.  That's why I decided to do a post to wait for my stomach to get hungry again!

I was going to go layout a bit, but like I said it's hot.  I don't like the heat if you didn't catch on.  Unless I am on a beach or by the pool where I have somewhere to cool off.  We shall see maybe I will be inspired by my ever fading tan line from my spring break trip to the Bahamas and go read for a while.

Anyways, hope you all are able to get out and enjoy the sun!  Happy Wednesday, the weekend is right around the corner!

Olay Beauty Fluid

So, last summer I was on the hunt for a new moisturizer.  I had grown out of the need for extra chemicals that get rid of zits, but I wasn't ready for a thick cream that takes forever to set in.  As a college student I prefer to get ready as quickly as possible in the morning! So, anyways, I happened to pick up Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid.  It is amazing!  It's not too thick, it sets in quickly, and it makes my skin so soft!  I highly recommend it!  Plus, you don't need very much so it lasts a really long time.  You can get it anywhere (target, Wal Mart, CVS, etc).  It doesn't have any SPF in it, but my make up does so I am not too concerned with that. Plus, I'm not exactly in the sun that much here in OH.  It comes in a box, so make sure to look for that and not just the bottle by itself.  Next time you are in need of a good moisturizer check it out!!!

Royal Gossip

So, there's not much in this world that can get me up before 10AM.  But you can be sure that I was awake at 4:45 AM to watch the Royal Wedding!  And let me tell you, it was worth waking up for!

The hats!  Oh, the hats!  It made me want to wear an amazing hat so bad!!  Maybe for my wedding I will force people to wear awesome hats?

Ok, I admit the one in the middle is a bit much.  Sort of reminded me of a Who, but gotta love that confidence!

The men looked dashing, as usual.  And, if you ask me, Harry has surpassed his big brother in hottness.

The Queen looked elegant in a buttercup yellow ensemble.  Did you know you are not supposed to wear the same color as the queen at an event??  My question is, How do you know what she is going to be wearing!?

And last, but not least, the BRIDE!!!

LOVED it!!! It was perfect!  The train wasn't too long, the lace was both modern and traditional.  She looked like herself, but she also looked like a princess.  Sigh.  Many people are comparing the dress to the one that
Grace Kelly wore at her wedding

I have to say that they are similar, but Kate's has the perfect amount of modern touches so that it doesn't look too old fashion.

Oh!  And can we talk about how her sister wore ivory to the wedding!?  A social taboo here in the states, but apparently this is common in the UK.  Who knew this royal wedding would be so educational!?

I can't wait for the next royal wedding!!!

Congrats to William and Kate!
